1. What sizes of Bollard Covers do you offer?

Our Dome Head Bollard Covers are available for 4.5", 7", 8", 10" and 12" pipe sizes. Available heights vary by diameter and include custom, 52", 60", 65" and 72". Contact Bollard Canada if you need help selecting the correct size.

2. How do I determine what Bollard Cover size to order?

Measure the outside diameter (OD) of your existing steel bollard. If you cannot measure the diameter directly, measure the circumference around the bollard with a measuring tape and use this formula:

Outside Diameter = Circumference ÷ 3.1416

Example:
If the circumference is 27.1":
27.1 ÷ 3.1416 = 8.63" OD

This corresponds to approximately an 8-5/8" outside diameter steel pipe.

3. Why is the Bollard Cover larger than the pipe?

Steel pipe sizes are generally identified by their nominal pipe size, not their actual outside diameter. For example, an 8" nominal pipe has an outside diameter of approximately 8.625". Our covers are sized to fit the actual outside diameter of the pipe.

4. How do I install a Bollard Cover?

Installation is simple. The supplied foam/neoprene strips are positioned around the existing bollard to create a secure fit. The cover is then slid over the bollard. 

Important: When ordering a Dome Head Bollard Cover, select a cover that is 4 inches (100 mm) taller than the existing steel bollard. This additional height is required to accommodate the dome-shaped top of the cover.

Example: If your existing steel bollard is 48" high, order a 52" high Bollard Cover.

5. What are the benefits of Bollard Covers?

Bollard covers eliminate the need for regular painting, improve the appearance and visibility of existing bollards, help conceal rust and surface deterioration, and provide a clean, professional finish with minimal maintenance.

6. What colors are available?

Standard colors include Yellow, Red, Blue, Black, Lime Green, Gray, Orange, White and Dark Gray. Color availability varies depending on the Bollard Cover diameter and height. Not all colors are available in every size. Please check the specific product size for currently available colors. Additional or custom colors may be available for larger quantities and special projects.

7. Are reflective stripes available?

Yes. Our Regular Bollard Covers are designed to accommodate 1" (25.4 mm) wide reflective stripes. Reflective stripes are available at no additional cost and can be added to improve visibility and safety.

For Dome Head Bollard Covers, reflective stripes are available at an additional cost and are applied directly to the smooth exterior surface.

8. What is the warranty on Bollard Canada Bollard Covers?

Bollard Canada bollard covers include a 5-year warranty against fading and cracking, subject to normal use and proper installation. Damage caused by impact, misuse, improper installation, chemicals or abnormal conditions is not covered.

9. What material are Bollard Canada Bollard Covers made from?

Bollard Canada Bollard Covers are manufactured from durable polyethylene thermoplastic (HDPE) with UV inhibitors and anti-static properties. Depending on the model, application and diameter, the material thickness ranges from approximately 1/8" (0.125") to 1/4" (0.250"). This construction provides excellent durability, impact resistance and long-term outdoor performance in Canadian conditions.

10. How are Bollard Covers shipped?

Bollard Canada ships Bollard Covers by box or by pallet, depending on the quantity, size and destination. Smaller orders are typically packaged in boxes, while larger commercial orders are securely palletized for freight transportation. We ship across Canada and the United States, and shipping costs are calculated based on the order and delivery location.
