SHIPPING TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Shipping Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases, deliveries, freight shipments, pickups, and transportation services associated with products sold by Bollard Canada.

By placing an order with Bollard Canada Inc., the customer agrees to the following shipping policies and conditions.


1. SHIPPING AREAS

Bollard Canada Inc. currently ships throughout Canada.

Shipping availability, delivery methods, and freight pricing may vary depending on:

  • Product dimensions
  • Product weight
  • Delivery location
  • Freight accessibility
  • Residential or commercial destination
  • Remote or rural areas

Certain oversized or custom products may require special transportation arrangements.


2. SHIPPING TIMES

Estimated shipping times provided by Bollard Canada Inc. are approximate only and are not guaranteed.

Delivery times may vary due to:

  • Product availability
  • Manufacturing schedules
  • Freight carrier delays
  • Weather conditions
  • Customs or transportation issues
  • Seasonal demand
  • Remote delivery locations

Bollard Canada Inc. is not responsible for delays caused by third-party carriers, weather conditions, strikes, transportation interruptions, or events beyond our control.


3. FREIGHT & PALLET SHIPMENTS

Many products sold by Bollard Canada Inc. are shipped by:

  • Freight carrier
  • LTL transport
  • Pallet shipment
  • Commercial transport truck

Customers must ensure that the delivery location is accessible for freight delivery.

For commercial deliveries, customers are responsible for advising Bollard Canada Inc. if the location includes:

  • Forklift access
  • Loading dock access
  • Restricted access
  • Narrow roads
  • Height restrictions
  • Limited unloading areas

Customers must clearly indicate before shipment whether they have:

  • A loading dock on site
  • A forklift on site
  • Appropriate unloading equipment available

Construction site deliveries require special handling and coordination.

For deliveries made directly to construction sites:

  • Customers must have a forklift or suitable unloading equipment available on site to unload products safely from the truck
  • Customers are responsible for coordinating unloading operations at the job site
  • Additional construction site delivery charges of $100.00 may apply
  • If no unloading equipment is available upon delivery, additional waiting time, redelivery, liftgate, crane, or handling charges may be billed back to the customer

Bollard Canada Inc. and freight carriers are not responsible for unloading heavy products without proper site equipment.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Tailgate service
  • Residential delivery
  • Appointment delivery
  • Remote area delivery
  • Re-delivery attempts
  • Special handling requirements
  • Construction site deliveries

Tailgate or liftgate fees may vary depending on the freight carrier and location.


4. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY DURING DELIVERY

Customers are responsible for inspecting all shipments immediately upon delivery.

Before signing for delivery, customers must:

  • Verify quantities
  • Inspect packaging
  • Check for visible damage
  • Confirm product condition

If damage is visible:

  • The customer must note the damage on the delivery receipt
  • Photos should be taken immediately
  • Bollard Canada Inc. must be notified within 24 to 48 hours

Failure to report freight damage within the required time period may result in denial of claims.


5. LOST, DAMAGED, OR DELAYED SHIPMENTS

Bollard Canada Inc. is not responsible for:

  • Freight carrier delays
  • Lost shipments caused by carrier errors
  • Weather-related transportation delays
  • Delivery interruptions beyond our control

However, Bollard Canada Inc. will make reasonable efforts to assist customers with freight claims and transportation issues.

Claims for damaged freight may require:

  • Delivery photos
  • Packaging photos
  • Signed delivery receipt
  • Carrier inspection reports

6. FAILED OR REFUSED DELIVERIES

If a shipment is refused by the customer or delivery cannot be completed due to:

  • Incorrect delivery information
  • No access to the delivery location
  • Lack of unloading equipment
  • Customer absence
  • Refused shipment

the customer may be responsible for:

  • Re-delivery charges
  • Storage fees
  • Return freight charges
  • Administrative fees
  • Restocking fees

Custom or special-order products may not be eligible for cancellation or return after shipment.


7. CUSTOMER PICK-UP

⚠️ PICKUP CONDITIONS

  • Products are provided loose unless otherwise specified
  • Products are not boxed, wrapped, or palletized unless agreed in advance
  • Customers are responsible for bringing appropriate transportation equipment
  • Customers are responsible for properly securing all products during transport
  • Bollard Canada Inc. is not responsible for damage occurring after products leave our facility
  • Customers must verify quantities and product condition before departure
  • Additional packaging, palletizing, wrapping, or loading services may be subject to additional charges

8. SPECIAL ORDER & CUSTOM PRODUCTS

Custom-made, fabricated, modified, or special-order products may require extended production and shipping times.

Estimated lead times are approximate and may vary depending on:

  • Manufacturing schedules
  • Material availability
  • Production volume
  • Galvanizing schedules
  • Freight coordination

Shipping dates for custom products are not guaranteed.


9. WINTER & WEATHER CONDITIONS

Bollard Canada Inc. operates in Canadian climate conditions where severe weather may affect:

  • Freight schedules
  • Road accessibility
  • Shipping timelines
  • Delivery safety

Winter storms, snow conditions, flooding, and transportation disruptions may result in shipping delays beyond our control.


10. SHIPPING ACCURACY

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all shipping information provided is accurate, including:

  • Delivery address
  • Contact information
  • Site accessibility
  • Delivery instructions

Additional fees resulting from incorrect information may be charged to the customer.


11. SHIPPING COSTS

Shipping costs are calculated based on:

  • Weight
  • Dimensions
  • Delivery location
  • Freight classification
  • Shipping method

Certain oversized or heavy products may require custom freight quotations.

Shipping charges are non-refundable unless otherwise approved by Bollard Canada Inc.


12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Bollard Canada Inc.’s responsibility for shipped products ends once the products are transferred to the freight carrier or picked up by the customer.

Under no circumstances shall Bollard Canada Inc. be liable for:

  • Indirect damages
  • Lost profits
  • Project delays
  • Installation delays
  • Business interruptions
  • Third-party costs related to shipping delays

Maximum liability shall not exceed the original purchase value of the products.


13. POLICY MODIFICATIONS

Bollard Canada Inc. reserves the right to modify these Shipping Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.

Updated policies become effective immediately upon publication.
